SYTYCD 2011 - Season 8 !!!

Message par edna »

ENFIN!!!! Ca fait longtemps que j'attends cette nouvelle: La nouvelle saison de SYTYCD commencera le 26 mai prochain

FOX has finally announced the premiere date for So You Think You Can Dance 2011 and just as we expected, we’ll get the first episode of SYTYCD 8 the day after the American Idol 2011 finale.

Dance will debut relatively early to get some sampling before summer really kicks in. The show will have a two-hour premiere on Thursday, May 26 at 8 p.m. with Mary Murphy back in the judges seat.

Once auditions conclude, Dance will air a performance show on Wednesdays and a results show on Thursdays, both at 8 p.m.

Looks like once FOX has locked down its claim to Wednesday and Thursday television after this season of Idol they won’t be ready to give it up anytime soon!

Oh, and yeah, you read that right. Mary Murphy will return to claim her judges seat at the panel. Are you ready for some more screaming and shouting?

SYTYCD 8 Will Bring Back The Top 20 And Maybe Alex Wong

Get ready, SYTYCD fans, because here comes the new season! Along with releasing the So You Think You Can Dance 2011 premiere date we’ve learned a few more details you’ll want to know all about.

First up is the news that the Top 20 will return, says Nigel Lythgoe:

“We’re bringing back the top 20 this season,” says Lythgoe. “And when we get to the top 10, is when we’ll introduce the all-stars. I don’t know who they are going to be yet. I want to make sure we complement the dancers that are in the top 10.”

It gets better though with the hints that we might not have seen the last of last season’s Alex Wong who had to drop out after extensive injuries kept him from completing the season.

“Alex is about 80% back to full fitness, so far,” says Lythgoe. “That’s really great news. Hopefully Alex will be back. Not sure in what guise yet. We’ll have to wait and see.”

Only 80% back after this much time sounds pretty rough, but maybe Nigel’s just sandbagging this one. Either way it won’t be much longer until we know for sure!
