Johnny Depp is likely to finally marry his long-term girlfriend this summer, reports claim.
The 43-year-old actor has been with girlfriend Vanessa Paradis for eight years and the pair have two children together, but the recent illness of daughter Lily-Rose has “spurred them into action”, sources say.
Depp’s seven-year-old daughter was rushed to hospital after she suffered from E.coli poisoning earlier this year, with the actor suspending work on his latest film to keep a vigil at her bedside with Vanessa.
He refused to return to the set of the Sweeney Todd film, which was being shot in London, until Lily-Rose was well again.
And the move brought the family even closer, claim insiders, who suggest a wedding is not too far off.
One source, who lives in the same French village as the couple, told the Daily Mail: “They have talked about marriage on and off for a long time but the recent emotional roller-coaster they have had to endure seems to have spurred them into action.”
However, they added that the couple, who live in the picturesque village of Plan de la Tour, near St Tropez, would not marry in the local church.
The source said: “We understand they will marry this summer. Villagers thought they would wed in the church here but we now hear that they have a little chapel in the grounds of their home.”

La chanteuse et actrice du film Dukes of Hazzard était avec son copain musicien quand il a pointé une photo d'Ashlee sur un magazine en demandant : « Quel âge avais-tu sur cette photo ? »
L'aînée des deux soeurs se serait alors emportée insistant sur le fait qu'elle et Ashlee sont complètement différentes. Une source a affirmé au magazine Star que Mayer avait sans doute touché un point sensible de la vedette.
Jessica Simpson a jadis été très près de sa jeune sœur de 22 ans, mais elles se sont beaucoup éloignées depuis que la cadette a commencé à perdre du poids et qu'elle a teint ses cheveux en blonds.
Plusieurs rumeurs affirment également qu'Ashlee Simpson aurait eu une intervention chirurgicale au niveau de son nez, mais elle n'a jamais confirmé la chose.
Une autre source a déclaré que Jessica Simpson est très dérangée d'entendre les commentaires qui insinuent qu'Ashlee aurait l'apparence qu'elle avait il y a deux ans.
Par contre, l'aînée des deux sœurs se dit très bien dans sa peau et se sent très belle malgré ses quelques livres de plus : « Je me sens très bien dans ma peau comme je suis. Je me sens belle même en ayant cinq livres en trop ou en moins. »
Jessica Simpson confirme être brune naturelle et c'est probablement la raison pour laquelle elle est récemment redevenue brune.
