Game show host Howie Mandel in hospital
(CNN) -- Game show host and comedian Howie Mandel was expected to be released Tuesday from a hospital where he was taken after he experienced an irregular heartbeat.
"He did not have a heart attack," his publicist, Lewis Kay, said.
Mandel, best-known for hosting the television show "Deal or No Deal," was in Toronto, Canada, filming segments for a new show "Howie Do It." The hour-long prank show debuted on NBC Friday.
Kay said Mandel, 53, was hospitalized so doctors could monitor his condition.
"Doctors expect him to be released and back to work tomorrow," Kay said in an e-mailed statement.
The statement did not say where Mandel was hospitalized.
