J'espère que les fans de Carly ont pu voter en masse ce soir... Je n'étais pas là, donc je n'ai pas pu voter malheureusement.

Before I give up I have to try. I almost did give up. The last time the judges said harsh things I wanted to fly to a far away island, dye my hair and change my name and start over. Then I looked at myself and realized my ego was getting in the way of the best chance I had ever been given.
This time, I gave myself a night. A night of bubble baths and Cat Power music to really wallow in my own self pity. Then I went to bed and woke up early for our visit to the Ronald McDonald Charity House. I met a boy named Noah and i would like to thank him now for putting everything into perspective for me and for showing me a type of bravery that I can only hope to have one day. Noah is an "Old Soul".
I have heard people use that term before, but till now I hadn't met anyone who deserved the title. This boy has this sarcastic, hilarious side to him that had me holding my stomach for laughing so hard. I left feeling like a huge weight had been lifted off my sholders. I feel so stupid to have been so worried over a song choice.
At the end of the day I am thankful for my supporters, my family and friends. I am grateful to Canadian Idol and to kids like Noah for showing me how important it is to enjoy each day and to focus on the good rather than the bad. So I am singing now like I did before I was swept up in this. I am singing for the love of it, and nothing else.
