Michael Jackson Public Memorial Service

The Michael Jackson Public Memorial Service will take place on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at STAPLES Center in downtown Los Angeles, California and simulcast inside to Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE across the street. A limited number of free tickets to both venues will be made available for Michael Jackson's fans to attend.

Free tickets to Jackson's memorial service can be obtained by registering at Staplescenter.com There will be 11,000 tickets for seats inside Staples Center and 6,500 for seats in the adjacent Nokia Theatre, where fans can watch a simulcast. There also will be a free worldwide video feed.

After 6 p.m. Saturday, 8,750 names will be randomly selected to receive two tickets each. Notifications will go out on Sunday. Those selected can obtain their tickets via Ticketmaster on Monday.

No details of the memorial service itself have been released.

Jackson a enregistré avec Mercury

Le guitariste de Queen, Brian May, est furieux que des chansons inédites enregistrées par Michael Jackson et Freddie Mercury aient fait surface dans Internet.

Jackson et Mercury ont enregistré quelques collaborations au cours des années 80, mais les chansons sont toujours demeurées secrètes jusqu’à il y a quelques jours.

«Michael avait l’habitude de venir nous voir quand nous étions en tournée aux États-Unis. Freddie et lui sont devenus de bons amis et ont enregistré quelques chansons ensemble dans la maison de Michael», a révélé May.

Celui-ci n’est pas du tout content que les pièces State of Shock et There Must Be More to Life Than This se soient retrouvées sur YouTube.

When Jackson died, Mariah Carey was one of the first famosos to express her condolences, saying,

“I am heartbroken. My prayers go out to the Jackson family, and my heart goes out to his children. Let us remember him for his unparalleled contribution to the world of music, his generosity of spirit in his quest to heal the world & the joy he brought to his millions of devoted fans throughout the world. I feel blessed to have performed with him several times & to call him my friend. No artist will ever take his place. His star will shine forever.”
