Leighton Meester’s Mom To Author Book

It was reported earlier that Gossip Girl hottie Leighton Meester was born in jail to mother, Connie Meester.

E! now reports that Connie is writing a memoir, although no publisher has been found yet. The book will travel through the rocky life of the Meester family, ranging from Connie’s time as a drug ring co-conspirator to suburban real estate agent and the raising of daughter Leighton.

According to Connie’s agent, Loch Powell, Ms. Meester began writing “3 to 4 years ago”.

Décidément, Angelina Jolie en prend pour son grade dernièrement. Après Roseanne Barr, qui en avait profité pour "flinguer" toute la famille, du papa (Jon Voight) au mari (Brad Pitt) (voir article), c'est au tour de Joan Rivers de tailler un costard à l'actrice.

Alors qu'elle parlait des actrices les plus intelligentes lors d'une interview accordée à GMTV, l'humoriste Joan Rivers en a profité pour s'en prendre à Angelina Jolie.

"Je me rends compte que les actrices sont en fait plus intelligentes que je ne l'imaginais. Bon il faut dire que j'ai travaillé avec des actrices vraiment stupides. J'ai travaillé avec Angelina Jolie, elle a vu une pancarte qui disait 'Wet Floor' et elle l'a fait ! (les panneaux 'wet floor' signalent que le sol est mouillé dans les lieux publics mais peuvent aussi se lire 'mouiller le sol' NDLR). C'est vrai qu'elle est magnifique, incroyablement belle même, mais stupide. Le genre de fille qui aurait pu demander à Stevie Wonder: 'Quelle est votre couleur préférée ?' " a déclaré l'humoriste âgée de 75 ans.

La question qui se pose est : quand l'interprète de Lara Croft va-t-elle cesser de pouponner deux secondes pour dégainer et tirer à son tour sur celles qui la flinguent à longueur de temps ?

In the race for ratings, John McCain has beat Barack Obama for viewership during their respective convention speeches.

According to Nielsen, McCain drew 38.9 million viewers for his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention while Obama only drew 38.4 million viewers for his acceptance speech. 38.9 million viewers ranks as the highest rated convention in history.

In related news, Oprah Winfrey has stated that she is more than willing to interview Sarah Palin after the campaign is over.

“The item in today’s Drudge Report is categorically untrue,” Oprah says. “There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show. At the beginning of this Presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over.”
