Ever since Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt eloped in Mexico last month, the legality of their nuptials has been in question. Spencer assured the press that the duo would be going through the necessary paperwork as soon as they were back from their honeymoon (or reenacting the whole lead-up to the wedding for The Hills cameras, either way). This week's episode was all about said wedding, and in the scenes from the next, it appears that Spencer and Heidi go to the courthouse to make the marriage legal.
The AP (yes, the real AP) did some investigating and found that MTV was given permission to film at the courthouse after hours and the "judge" in the scene is not any of the ones actually on their bench. Furthermore, a court spokesman said that when they do perform ceremonies at the courthouse they don't look anything like the one shown on the show.
While nothing really surprises us anymore in terms of these two, it's still a lot that they went so far as to rent out a courthouse to keep up the appearance of their marriage. What do you think, is this surprising or would you expect nothing less?

Money can't buy everything, so the saying goes, and the Jolie-Pitt clan are proving to be a prime example when it comes to their holiday gift buying. Avoiding the craze of expensive presents for his six children -- Maddox Chivan, 7, Pax Thien, 5, Zahara Marley, 3 ½, Shiloh Nouvel, 2 ½, and fraternal twins Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline, 5 months -- Brad Pitt shares with Hello! magazine that he and his partner Angelina Jolie have not given their brood a chance to watch American commercials, which has in turn created a sense of innocence when it comes to extravagant toys. "The kids don't ask for big gifts for the reason that they don't see a lot of the American cartoon television, which is packed with all those manipulative commercials for big toys that look so fantastic," explains the actor. For Brad, the logic is quite simple -- when his children are exposed to the enticing ads is "when they start asking for the toys," but sensor what they see and "they won't know they're there."
While the kids may not be opening stacks of luxurious gifts this Christmas, Brad shares that come Christmas morning, the space under the tree is not empty! In place of boxes and boxes of toys from the stores -- as the couple "try to keep the money spent to a minimum" -- the children find special presents from each one of their siblings; Not only are they excited, but the gift of giving has become a special time for the proud parents as well.
"The rule is that everyone's got to make something for someone else, you got to put time into it. Then, when they give to each other, it's really sweet."
Brad's new movie, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, is in theaters December 25th.

It's 'Hard to Say No' to Suri, Says Tom Cruise
For 2½-year-old Suri Cruise, anytime is a good time for ice cream. So said her dad, actor Tom Cruise, during a Wednesday appearance on Live with Regis and Kelly. Despite having the world at her fingertips while living in New York City -- where mom Katie Holmes currently stars in the Broadway production All My Sons -- "the ice cream store is Suri's favorite place" to visit in the Big Apple, Tom revealed. "It doesn't matter the temperature [outside]."
When asked by co-hosts Kelly Ripa and Regis Philbin what might be awaiting Suri under the Christmas tree, Tom was coy, pointing out that since his daughter might be watching he wouldn't "want to give anything away." He did confirm, however, that Suri is hoping for a furry friend to accompany her on her New York City adventures.
"She just loves dogs, loves puppies, loves animals. She's hard to say no to, that Suri. She's so sweet. All my children are."
Tom went on to reveal that he and Katie have found an ally in Tom's daughter Isabella Jane, turning 16 next week, in their ongoing efforts to diversify Suri's wardrobe! "She dresses herself [when] Kate lays the [clothes] out for her," Tom explains. "She won't wear pants, and it's very difficult getting the coat on...But having a big sister helps, because she looks to Bella."
In addition to Suri and Bella, Tom is dad to Connor Antony, 13 ½, with ex-wife Nicole Kidman. His new movie Valkyrie opens Dec. 25.

Adam Sandler's Dreams 'All Came True'
As a young, up-and-coming actor Adam Sandler had an idea of what his life might one day be like. "I wanted to go to Hollywood, become a huge star, live in a mansion with nothing but chicks," he revealed Monday on The Late Show with David Letterman, "and it all came true." Those "chicks," of course, might not be the kind that he initially envisioned! Dad to Sadie Madison, 2 ½, and new baby Sunny Madeline, 6 weeks, with wife Jackie, Adam noted that even the family dog is a girl. "I have it all happening," he said. As for his eldest daughter, life as a big sister has been "shocking."
"You feel like you cheated on your first kid [when you have a second]. She acts kind of like that. She'll come up to me and ask, 'What did you do last night?' Just hung out. 'Who were you with?' You know, was with that new little thing in the house. 'Was she cool?'"
Adam, 42, admitted that while he and Jackie feel that Sunny is "a cute name," his own mom is not as enthusiastic. "'That's a nickname,' she kept saying," Adam revealed. "'You've got to give your child a real, proper name...if you want to call her Sunny, that's fine, but a real name!'" In an effort to "take care of Mom-Mom" Adam joked that the couple "put down Sunday Night Football" on Sunny's birth certificate. Next up for Adam is the more family-friendly film Bedtime Stories, and his decision to take the role is directly tied to his most important role of all -- dad!
"I was watching television with my little daughter, and I was like, 'This is so disgusting, what is on television? It's smutty, it's gross. And then I realized that it was one of my movies. So I said we've got to make a nice movie for the children."
Bedtime Stories opens December 25th.

Kelly Rutherford is pulling double duty! The 40-year-old actress tells the Dec. 29 issue of US Weekly that as she awaits the birth of her second child with husband Daniel Giersch, she's still nursing the couple's 2-year-old son Hermès Gustaf Daniel. Citing the "amazing bond" created by breastfeeding, Kelly is letting Hermès dictate when it is time to wean. "Some cultures do it up to five years, normally," she explains. "I thought, 'Well, I'll just do it as long as it feels right for my son.'"
Bonding aside -- like many moms -- Kelly believes that breastfeeding played a big part in her postpartum weightloss, and hopes it will again after baby-on-the-way makes his or her debut in June.
"I was thinner after my pregnancy than before, and I think a lot of it was the nursing. They say it helps get your body back to shape in a natural way."

It's a Barbie World for Courteney Cox-Arquette and Coco
There isn't much guesswork involved when it comes to Christmas shopping for Courteney Cox-Arquette's daughter Coco Riley, 4 ½. For the last few years, Courteney says it's been all Barbie, all the time in the home she shares with husband David Arquette. "She's obsessed with Barbies," Courteney, 44, said of Coco on Thursday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "She has all the Barbies that David gives her, which is almost daily." Calling her husband a "shopaholic," Courteney added that "David feels like if he just goes away for an hour, he has to [give Coco a Barbie]."
The couple found themselves in over their heads last year, however, when they sat down late on Christmas Eve to assemble Coco's big gift -- the Barbie mansion. "We went out to dinner, as we always do on Christmas Eve, with all the Arquettes," Courteney recalled. "We came home and it's 11 p.m., and we get out the Barbie mansion, in this big box." To their shock, they then discovered the small print on the packaging!
"It says, 'Please allow nine hours for assembly.' And this is at 11 p.m. There was nothing we could do; I'm not kidding, we had to get a contractor to put this house together. It is huge, it is pink, it is ugly...I can't give this thing away."
Host Ellen DeGeneres was able to deduce that, given the late hour and the holiday the next day, it was unlikely that Coco's Barbie mansion was waiting for her on Christmas morning. Conceding the point, Courteney admitted that the couple instead "gave it to her six months later for her birthday." This holiday season has already gotten off to a good start for Coco, who had a blast at a tree-trimming party held last weekend at the home of Courteney's good friend Jennifer Aniston. Guests -- who included both Courteney and Ellen -- were invited to bring an ornament and place it on Jennifer's tree, but Coco wound up performing most of the manual labor herself! Said Courteney,
"Coco was the only person taking care of the tree. She put [all the ornaments] only on, like, a 3-feet-high level."
