Neil Patrick Harris will host the 2009 Tony Awards on Sunday, June 7, live from NYC’s Radio City Music Hall.

“The discipline of live theatre — doing the same perfect thing night after night, eight times a week — never ceases to amaze me,” the 35-year-old How I Met Your Mother star said in a press release. “I’m truly honored to have been chosen as the Master of Ceremonies for this year’s Tony Awards, and I hope to help provide a first-class evening for all.”

The Tonys will air live @ 8-11PM ET/PT on CBS.

Last week, NPH told me that he plans to go back to Broadway someday. “I would love to when HIMYM is done,” NPH told JustJared.com. “I think we’ll move back to the east coast. The pulse of the city is so strong, the heartbeat here, I think it’s a better place to live day to day. Definitely theater. [My partner David Burtka is a big theater actor too, so he misses it as well.”
