Heidi Montag's plastic surgeon Dr Frank Ryan has been killed in a car crash.
The Beverly Hills surgeon, who has treated a host of stars, was in his Jeep when it went off the side of the Pacific Coast Highway yesterday outside Los Angeles.
The Jeep landed on rocks and lifeguards rushed to the scene to release Ryan, who was trapped inside with serious head injuries, reports celebrity website TMZ.
Ventura County Fire Department tried hoisting Ryan using a helicopter, but the attempt was called off. The 50-year-old died at the scene, say TMZ.
Ironically minutes before the crash, Ryan tweeted: 'After 25 years of driving by, I finally hiked to the top of the giant sand dune on the pch west of Malibu. Much harder than it looks! Whew!'
His last Tweet says: 'Border collie Jill surveying the view from atop the sand dune.'
Ryan posted the picture below with his Tweet. The dog was injured but survived, say TMZ.
As well as performing Heidi Montag's notoriously extreme makeover, Ryan's patients included Gene Simmons, Shauna Sand and Vince Neil.

C'est le jour du treizième anniversaire de la mort de la princesse Diana (le 31 août) qu'une marque chinoise de lingerie baptisée Diana Underwear a choisi de lancer une gigantesque campagne de publicité. Jusqu'ici, pas de problème, sauf que l'illustration choisie a fait un petit scandale au Royaume-Uni !
Imaginez un peu : dans toutes les grandes villes de Chine, des dessins représentant la princesse de Galles jouant du violoncelle à un enfant alors qu'elle ne porte qu'une tiare et des sous-vêtements s'étalent en quatre par trois ! Les sujets de Sa Majesté ont très peu goûté cette affiche, et on comprend pourquoi...
