NBC NAMES ANNAMARIE KOSTURA TO LEAD NBC DAYTIME PROGRAMS AND TOM ALFIERI PROMOTED TO VICE PRESIDENT DAYTIME PROGRAMS

BURBANK, Calif. -– November 16, 2005 -- NBC has named Annamarie Kostura to head NBC Daytime Programs and Tom Alfieri has been promoted to Vice President, Daytime Programs, NBC Entertainment, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, President, NBC Entertainment.
Kostura as Vice President, Daytime Programs will head the daytime programming department that includes NBC's hit shows "Days of our Lives" (now celebrating its 40th anniversary) and "Passions." She will report to Reilly and will be responsible for overseeing the creative content of the network's two daytime dramas.
Alfieri, who will report to Kostura, will also be in charge of creative input, as well as an NBC liaison for both properties.
"Annamarie and Tom are perfectly experienced to maintain and enhance NBC's high standards of entertainment program excellence when it comes to our daytime dramas," said Reilly. "They are well-respected, knowledgeable and passionate about the genre, and we can look forward to a seamless transition and continued growth."
Previously, Kostura was Vice President, Daytime Programs and Casting, NBC Entertainment, since 1995. In this role, she was a key member of the NBC senior management charged with Daytime task-force strategy and program development for both shows. She spearheaded the Rolling Stones and "Days of our Lives" marketing initiative, NBC's involvement with the Country Music Association's Music Festival, fan festivals with Telemundo, as well as the PassionsRed.com online promotion. Earlier, Kostura served as a Director, Daytime Programs and Casting, from 1990-95.
During her years at NBC, Kostura has had a major impact on the network's daytime strategy. She helped launch "Passions" in 1999 and was involved in all aspects of its production. Likewise, Kostura was critical in the 1996 premiere of "Sunset Beach," the Aaron Spelling-produced daytime drama. She also was the network executive who oversaw the talk show "Leeza" and "Real Live," a daily magazine show produced with NBC's Boston affiliate WHDH.
Before Kostura came to NBC, she was a casting director for ABC Television on the daytime drama "One Life to Live" from 1980-89. She is a graduate of Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York, where she received a bachelor of arts degree in theatre. She is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Alfieri previously was Vice President, Research, NBC Entertainment, where he was specifically responsible for the Daytime Program research. In 1997, he first joined NBC in New York as a Manager, Primary Research, where he was a leader of Interactive Media research team for NBC Digital Productions (NBC.com) and television network.
In 1999, Alfieri briefly left NBC to work as Executive Director, Research and Media Strategy, at Soundbreak.com. Alfieri resumed at NBC Burbank in 2000 as a Director, Program Research, and was later named Vice President in 2004. In those positions, he oversaw quantitative and qualitative research as he evaluated current programs, developed projects and promotional materials, and analyzed A.C. Nielsen research ratings for network research. During this time, he also worked for CNBC.com
Before he came to NBC, Alfieri worked as a private statistical consultant in New York City. He graduated from the Johns Hopkins University with a bachelor of arts degree in psychology and later earned a Ph.D. in psychology from New York University.
