DNA shows Birkhead father of Smith's baby

DNA evidence shows that Larry Birkhead, former boyfriend of dead model Anna Nicole Smith, is the biological father of her baby Dannielyn.

"I'm glad to have this behind me and to be able to start a life with my daughter," the Los Angeles photographer said, addding, "I'm going to a toy store!"

Birkhead and Howard K. Stern, Smith's lawyer turned partner, both attended Tuesday's court date in Nassau, Bahamas.

There will be another court date on Friday to deal with some other issues, Birkhead's lawyer said.

An expert in genetic evidence said the DNA analysis has proven Birkhead is Dannielynn's father. Dr. Michael Baird, who analyzed the results of a March 21 DNA test, announced the results outside the court. "Essentially, he's the biological father," Baird said.

A jubilant Birkhead said "My baby's going to be coming home pretty soon."

La vedette du film The Black Dahlia fréquente depuis quelques jours, l'ancien fiancé de la chanteuse Alanis Morisette, l'acteur Ryan Reynolds.

Le couple a été vu, se tenant par la main, au restaurant Odeon de New York samedi soir dernier. Des témoins de la scène ont révélé au People Magazine qu'ils « formaient un joli couple. »

Le lendemain, le couple s'est présenté à un déjeuner entre amis au Carlyle hotel.
