"The World's Sexiest Man" appears to have a black eye in this photo from the set of "Leatherheads," but the charming actor/director is still all smiles.

"Leatherheads," a romantic comedy set in the 1920s, stars Clooney as the owner of a professional football team who has fallen for his star player's fiancée -- which could explain the black eye!

Leave it to the makeup crew to tarnish this handsome face.
