La fille de Lionel Richie refait des siennes en envoyant un e-mail d'invitation à une soirée assez particulière.Nicole Richie refait parler d'elle. La demoiselle suscite la polémique après l'envoi d'un e-mail d'invitation à une soirée de retrouvailles entre amis. Dans ce message, la jeune femme plaisanterait sur son arrestation pour conduite en état d'ivresse et ses problèmes de pertes de poids. Cette dernière appelle également ses amis à "commencer à jeûner" afin d'être assez minces pour entrer à la fête qui refoulera les personnes en surpoids. Une grande beuverie est également annoncée.

Si l'invitation n'a été envoyée qu'à des relations très proches, elle est tombée malencontreusement entre les mains du magazine In Touch Weekly, qui s'est empressé de relayer la polémique. Ironiquement, la petite fête a fait la une de tous les journaux avec l'hospitalisation de Mischa Barton, qui aurait mal réagi à des médicaments, et Nicole Richie, elle-même, impliquée dans un petit accident de voiture.
