Citation :A Note From Keith...
July 18, 2006

2003

Hello Canada!
As some of you may or may not know I just finished partaking as an entertainer on Canadian Idol. Last week I was let go from the show and sent back to the world of independent music, that I love and know so well. I am completely overwhelmed by the support and love that this country is giving me. My main objective throughout the Idol experience was to connect with the hearts of the people who so faithfully watch the show. It was an extremely huge honor to be able to sing in front of 3 million people over the past three weeks. When the camera light came on and I looked through that lens, it was all about them- and it was one of the most powerful experiences I have ever had.
I wanted to write a quick thank you to all of you who have been behind my music career over the past ten years with Easily Amused. We are gonna continue to make the best music we possibly can and plan to have a new album out soon! For those of you who stumbled upon this, please check out the following projects that Renee (the other half of EA) and I have been working on...and we will meet up when we come to play in your town soon!

Love,
Keith --Message edité par felix le 2006-07-30 21:58:42--

Citation :Bio:

Easily Amused have been gradually stair stepping towards mainstream recognition since releasing their debut independent CD Novice in 2001. The combination of searing harmonies and infectious songwriting quickly vaulted them onto national television in Canada. Three years and almost 600 live performances later, Keith and Renee’s sophomore CD Release, Simple Stuff has already been nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award in the “Outstanding Pop Album” category. Their popular live performances and successful songwriting skills have garnered a Canadian Music Award for Best Online Indie Artists and their relentless touring and performing at American Campuses has recently landed them an award for The Best College Duo in the USA by CampusAwards.com.

Their 2004 CD, Simple Stuff, produced by Creighton Doane is a blistering collection of radio-friendly pop/rock songs that still remains loyal to the singer/songwriter niche that this duo has become known for. Doane artfully harnesses every aspect of Easily Amused’s formidable talent and energy, from Renee’s powerhouse vocals on the personal ballads “Simple Stuff” and “Only A Girl” to Keith’s spirit and melodic sensibilities on “No One’s Fool”. The album has been getting substantial commercial airplay in Canada and was recently charting in the top 200 on CMJ (College Music Journal) College Radio in the USA.

Easily Amused makes for a live show that consistently wins over audiences in any setting, including clubs, theatres, colleges and outdoor festivals. Memorable dates include showcases at The North by Northeast Festival, Canadian Music Week, and The Western Canadian Music Awards.

Introduced to each other through Lamoureux’s cousin in 1997, Lamoureux and Macpherson developed a strong friendship, put pen to paper and began writing songs together. After realizing how well they worked together, the duo soon amassed a collection of songs to perform in coffee houses across North America. Although Lamoureux and Macpherson formed a strong collaboration, the duo put their musical aspirations on hold for a year to pursue their education. Realizing that the musical connection between Lamoureux and Macpherson was undeniable the two officially began writing and performing together again in 1998 under the name, Easily Amused.

Easily Amused is now well on their way to becoming a musical force to be reckoned with. The endearing harmonies and strong songwriting has by no means reached a plateau. In fact, the duo’s music is ever evolving and Easily Amused proves there continues to be a place for honest songwriting and musicianship in the music industry.
