ILM enters the Episode III Space Battle Source: StarWars.com Monday, January 12, 2004
On Thursday, January 8, Director George Lucas turned over the first major action sequence of Star Wars: Episode III to the visual effects crew at Industrial Light & Magic. The official site says the film will open with a thrilling space battle that pits the forces of the Republic against the battleships of the Separatists.
Though ILM has already completed around 23-25 shots -- made up of small scenes of short duration -- the "turnover" of the space battle is significant as it represents one of the major action sequences in the film. It has been edited together with placeholder visual effects done by the Animatics Department, forming a sophisticated starting point for the finished shots to be delivered by ILM.
"Very soon now, you'll have the first two reels," George Lucas told Visual Effects Supervisor John Knoll. "There are two more scenes to cut." There are an estimated 2,000 visual effects shots in the film. Producer Rick McCallum has set a goal of at least 160 visual effects shots to be completed by May 2004, inspired by the benchmark set by "Episode II". In May of 2001, approximately 160 visual effects shots were completed for "Attack of the Clones," a year before release.

Star Wars: Episode III Has the Longest Duel Ever Source: TheForce.net Sunday, January 25, 2004
TheForce.net reports that, according to an interview in UK's Times magazine with stunt coordinator Nick Gillard, the lightsaber duel between Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: Episode III will be the longest fight ever in a film.
I got the Jedi style from all the great sword styles. Only about 12 people on Earth know it and can read the moves off the page. But I invented it, so I can beat them all, though Hayden Christiansen, who plays Darth Vader, is the toughest. The skill is mostly balance and having your feet in the right place. In the next film, Ewan [McGregor] has more than 1,000 moves, which are more complicated to learn than dialogue. The climactic fight scene is, at 12 minutes, the longest fight scene in cinema history.
In related news, on Friday, leaked behind-the-scenes footage from "Episode III" hit the Web and we've received numerous e-mails from fans who had nothing but positive things to say about it. TFN says that the footage came from a meeting between Target executives and the marketing team from Lucasfilm. A lot of the duel mentioned above is shown in the footage and while we can't link to it here, you can browse around to see how you can get a copy.

Star Wars: Episode III Fights & a Villain Confirmed Source: TheForce.net, LucasArts Saturday, February 14, 2004
TheForce.net points us to several new updates about Star Wars: Episode III. First up, the site reports that Dreamwatch magazine has published an interview with fight coordinator Nick Gillard who goes into detail about the lightsaber battles in the third and final prequel. Nick Gillard feels the Force will be strong in Star Wars: Episode III. "It's going to be the best prequel. I can't see how it won't be," says Gillard, the veteran stunt co-ordinator whose outstanding fight sequences have been one of the undisputed highlights of the new Star Wars trilogy.
"Episode III has got everything the other films had and more! The movie is 60 to 70 per cent fighting. Ewan [McGregor, Obi-Wan Kenobi] had 1,000 moves to learn, as opposed to the three pages he had to learn in The Phantom Menace. There's tons of fighting in this one."
"Episode III also ties in beautifully with all the other movies. And when I read the scrpt, I was really surprised by how emotional it is." "Everyone working on the film took so much care with it," he states. "Nobody wants to get it wrong."

The game features more than fifteen levels, with exercises covering both familiar and new Star Wars settings and characters, including the introduction of the mysterious General Grievous and his deadly bodyguards from the upcoming Star Wars: Episode III.

Star Wars: Episode III Villain Revealed Source: StarWars.com Friday, February 20, 2004
With still a year to go until his big screen Star Wars: Episode III debut, the mighty General Grievous (click thumbnail for bigger picture) will see small screen action as part of the new installment of "Star Wars: Clone Wars" micro-series episodes, according to StarWars.com.
"In Attack of the Clones, we saw that former Jedi Count Dooku was the political leader behind the Separatists movement and instigator of the Clone Wars," says Producer Rick McCallum. "In Episode III, we'll meet General Grievous, the military leader of all the Separatist armies. He's part alien and part robot. Grievous is a master strategist and the greatest hand-to-hand Jedi killer the galaxy has ever known."
In Chapter 20 (set to air on April 8), the micro-series finale, a group of Jedi Knights is being decimated by a seemingly indestructible new enemy. By episode's end, the Jedi and viewers both will understand the power of General Grievous.
The ten new episodes of the "Star Wars: Clone Wars" micro-series begin on Friday, March 26. They will be available online to the official site's Hyperspace subscribers in high quality with optional exclusive audio commentary from creator Genndy Tartakovsky. Ne manquer surtout pas Access Hollywood ce jeudi soir!!!! Ils vont montrer le teaser trailer du film!! Et à ce qu'il parait c'est génial!!! Alors à vos écrans jeudi soir, ne manquer surtout pas ça!! Sinon, il sera sur le net pas longtemps après, je vais le mettre ici dès qu'il est disponible!! Ou encore aller voir The Incredibles, il va passer là!!

C'est l'original!! Il va être disponible dans les 3 formats demain (soit hi-res, med-res, low-res) et je vais venir ajouter les liens, mais pour l'instant ça fait l'affaire, ça va être excellent!! La passe de Darth Vader est trop débile, j'en ai des frissions!

Ben c'est seulement le teaser trailer, ne l'oublie pas! C'est juste un p'tit sneek peak de ce qui s'en vient!
Moi je trouve ça très bien en tout cas! C'est du montage en vrak pour nous montrer un avant-goût de ce qui s'amène!! Imagine la passe de Darth Vader dans le vrai trailer, avec ce qu'on a déjà vu dans le teaser ça promet pour le vrai tailer!!
