Scoop on Grey's Anatomy, Veronica Mars, Numbers, CSI: NY and More

Question: My 21st birthday is today and, aside from a good drink, I would like nothing more than some scoop on Grey's Anatomy. Please tell me that Callie will find out soon about George and Izzie whoring around behind her back?— Lauren

Ausiello: Poor Callie will remain blissfully unaware until around, um, let's go with May 10. The following week, I believe the smelly brown stuff hits the fan.

Question: Is Isaiah Washington leaving Grey's Anatomy?— Karen

Ausiello: If he is, ABC is doing a really good job of keeping a lid on it. This much I know for sure: At the end of next Thursday's episode, Burke starts to have some serious reservations about marrying Cristina. And you're never going to believe whom he turns to for advice. (Hint: They had a little dust-up at the Golden Globes.)

Question: On Grey's, will Jane Doe get an actual identity before the end of the season?— Tara

Ausiello: I hear she's getting an actual hubby in the season finale, so it stands to reason that her identity is part of the package.

Question: It seems that, on Grey's Anatomy, Mark's "failure" to go 60 days without sex must mean, dare I say it, that he's unable to have sex? Am I right?— Melinda

Ausiello: Nope. I suggest you hunt down someone by the name of Christine Frickle for the answer to this brainteaser. She was the only AA reader who figured out what I meant by "failure." Congratulations, Christine!

Question: Your Ausiello Report item about NCIS ruined my day. Don Bellisario has got to fix whatever is going on between him and Mark Harmon! I can't imagine NCIS without Mark or the character of Gibbs.— Andrea

Ausiello: You're not alone. Check out the latest poll results at Ausiello Central.

Question: I know it's early, but got anything on Prison Break's third season?— Natalie

Ausiello: Haven't you learned anything from Ask Ausiello? There's no such thing as too early when it comes to scoop. Case in point: Prison Break producers are already hard at work casting a slew of new series-regular roles, including a male in his forties (King Kong's Thomas Kretschmann is the prototype) and a strong-willed female in her thirties (likely a love interest for Lincoln).

Question: Does Mama Petrelli on Heroes have a superpower?— Amanda

Ausiello: She certainly does. And it's very similar to a power possessed by another hero, only in her case, it takes a lot less effort to get from Point A to Point B.

Question: Do you know anything about whether How I Met Your Mother is returning next season?— Una

Ausiello: Only that it's still on the bubble. If it's any comfort — and it probably isn't — the season finale could easily function as a series finale (for reasons I won't go into because not even I'm that much of a spoiler tramp).

Question: "You won't be disappointed"? That's it? That's all you're gonna give us on the CSI: NY season finale (Ask Ausiello 4/11)? Come on, us Danny and Lindsay 'shippers need a little more than that. Please?— Adele

Ausiello: (Spoiler alert) There's a kiss — and then some. Happy now?

Question: What do you know about the scratch 'n' sniff episode of My Name Is Earl?— Amanda

Ausiello: I know that common scents says you should hurry up and purchase a copy of this week's TV Guide magazine, since it's the only place you'll find the Laugh 'N Sniff card. (See what I did there? I replaced "sense" with "scents." Get it?)

Question: Oh, Ausiello, you stud muffin! Did I ever tell you you're my hero? Anyways, what's happening on Numbers, man? I heard someone may be getting shot in the finale.— Loren Mullins

Ausiello: Somebody might get shot in the season finale. And that person might be one of the main characters, according to exec producer Cheryl Heuton. "The season finale is a big episode," she teases. "It features characters facing physical danger who don't regularly do that on the show. It's also the episode in which Megan Reeves — aka Diane Farr — returns. It's safe to say that after the season finale, some things will have changed forever." This just in: The finale will also feature The Shield's Catherine Dent playing a Lois Lane-y journalist.

Question: Please, please, please give us some Supernatural scoop! I'm dying!— Mary

Ausiello: It's official: Papa Winchester (aka JDM) is returning in the season finale.

Question: You're killing us with this whole SVU pregnancy shocker. Can you please give us another hint?— Donna

Ausiello: I already whittled the field of possible moms-to-be down to three in this week's vodcast. I suppose I could also tell you that there's a major bit of foreshadowing in the May 8 episode that may or may not involve Chris Meloni's waning crescent.

Question: Thanks for keeping us updated on the nail-biting situation that is Gilmore Girls' possible eighth season. Please give us the latest update, even if it's that things are the same.— Heather M.

Ausiello: The 13-episode deal should've been signed, sealed and delivered by now. Something's obviously holding up the works. Maybe Sally Struthers is playing hardball.

Question: Can you please tell us in what episode and in what situation Luke and Lorelai will kiss after a year apart?— Audrey

Ausiello: God, you guys are an impatient bunch. (Spoiler alert) It happens in the season finale shortly after Luke single-handedly prevents Rory's graduation party from becoming a total washout. Do you also want to know how much tongue there is?

Question: Kim, Kim, where art thou, Kim on 24?— Kassie

Ausiello: Someone's returning in the season finale, but I can neither confirm nor deny that it's Elisha Cuthbert.

Question: I've been dying without Veronica Mars since it's gone on hiatus. Could you please give me some scoop on the new episodes?— Courtney

Ausiello: As I mentioned in the latest Ausiello Report vodcast, I've seen the next two episodes, and I'm ready to declare the new self-contained mystery experiment a resounding success. Not only does the new format rock, but I actually prefer it to the season-long arcs. And it's not like the show's serialized nature has been completely abandoned. Far from it. The continuing saga that is Veronica's love life actually gets extra play in these episodes. Major developments abound, and, strangely, most of them seem to occur in or around elevators.

Question: Your spoiler last week about Veronica telling Logan he's out of her life forever was unsettling.— Joan

Ausiello: No worries. After you watch the first two episodes, I have a feeling you'll be following my lead and switching to Team Pizonica. If their big kiss on May 1 doesn't win you over, the final scene on May 8 ought to do the trick.

Question: Any truth to the rumor that the CW did not jump for Veronica Mars' FBI scenario?— Lori

Ausiello: No truth whatsoever, actually. As I reported in the Ausiello Report, Mars' main man Rob Thomas was baffled by Enrico Colantoni's assertion that Dawn Ostroff rejected the FBI idea. I think his exact words were, "I have no earthly idea what Enrico is talking about." As Rob pointed out, the CW doesn't see (or hear) his pitches for next season until May 2.

Question: Scrubs is going to revisit the J.D./Elliot romance? I'm not complaining, I just thought Bill Lawrence ended it for good a few seasons ago.— Paola

Ausiello: I thought so, too! Turns out the little sadist couldn't resist messing with the two of them just as they're about to undergo major life changes (her upcoming engagement to Keith, his reunion with a very pregnant Dr. Kim). "J.D.'s about to have a baby with Kim, and Elliot's getting married," he explains. "Their entire lives are going to change and they're not even sure that they want them to. To me, it's more about two scared, pathetically inept people that have a sexual past possibly taking the easy way out." That said, since next season will likely be the show's last, Scrubs' boss man isn't ruling anything out. "Our writing staff is split down the middle," he says. "I'm on the side that thinks that Elliot and J.D. aren't really a couple and it's not worth doing, and then half the writing staff feels that, ultimately, they should end up together. It's a constant argument."

Question: Any spoilers for the King of Queens finale?— Misty

Ausiello: Only what I told you in my vodcast last week: Leah Remini is not going to be happy with the ending.

Question: I'll pray to the Snapple gods to make it rain Diet Raspberry Snapple if you give me some Ugly Betty scoop.— Marian L.

Ausiello: The May 17 finale sounds pretty fraktacular. Check out this tease ABC just sent out: "Betty and Henry’s romance heats up. Meanwhile, Wilhelmina makes great strides in her ambitious power play, as Daniel descends further in a downward spiral. The Suarez family trip to Mexico takes a dangerous turn, with old ghosts creating new problems. Explosive secrets will be revealed, and everything will be tied together by a beloved Broadway musical."

Question: What's the scoop on the rumored "death" in the Smallville season finale?— Eric F.

Ausiello: It's true; there's a "death" in the Smallville finale on May 17.

Question: Your frienemy over at E! is reporting that one of the four main characters in Smallville — Clark, Lana, Lex or Chloe — will die in the Smallville season finale. Obviously they're not killing off Clark; the chances of it being Lana or Lex are about as likely as Papa Smurf setting up a partnership with Gargamel. Which leaves one option.— Stephen

Ausiello: It's true; there's a "death" in the Smallville finale on May 17. (Is there an echo in here?)

Question: Am I the only one who thinks this is the best season of Lost? Anyhoo, can you give me some more info on the five deaths you scooped in last week's Ask Ausiello? Like, are all the deaths going to be Losties, or will it be a mixture of Losties and Others?— Benjamin Flemming

Ausiello: It'll be a mix, but one side will get hit harder than the other. Speaking of Lost, get a load of this: Michael Emerson’s wife, Carrie Preston, is guest-starring in his flashback episode — as his mother!

Question: Wow, five deaths! Please tell me that Juliet is not one of them!— PGP

Ausiello: They wouldn't dare.
