Alors que Brittany Murphy disparaissait tragiquement il y a quelques jours, ses funérailles vont avoir lieu aujourd’hui, au cimetière de Forest Lawn.

Déchiré par la tristesse, son père confie aux médias américains qu’il ne viendra pas dire un dernier adieu à sa fille, tant la force de la voir une dernière fois dans cet état lui fait défaut : "J’ai été très choqué d’apprendre sa mort, confie Angelo Bertolotti. Je n’arrive toujours pas à y croire. C’est arrivé si vite, j’essaie encore de m’en rendre compte. Je suis trop bouleversé."

Et d'ajouter : "Si je voulais aller aux funérailles, j’irais, mais je ne veux pas la voir comme ça. Elle était si parfaite à mes yeux. C’était une petite enfant rayonnante. Je n’ai que de bons souvenirs à son propos. Elle est un souvenir pour moi, maintenant. J’aime à penser qu’elle est quelque part, en train de faire un film."

Angelo Bertolotti n’avait pas vu sa fille depuis plus d’un an et n’a jamais rencontré son gendre, Simon Monjack.

C’est aujourd’hui, 24 décembre, qu’auront lieu les obsèques de Brittany Murphy. L’actrice de 32 ans est décédée d’un arrêt cardiaque dans sa résidence de Los Angeles dimanche, le 20 décembre dernier.

La famille de Brittany Murphy, sa mère Sharon et son mari, Simon Monjack, se préparent à rendre un dernier hommage à l’actrice de 32 ans, retrouvée morte dimanche dernier dans la salle de bains de sa maison des Hollywood Hills. Les obsèques se tiendront aujourd’hui, veille de Noël, au cimetière de Forest Lawn, là où Michael Jackson a été enterré.

On ne possède aucun détail sur cette cérémonie qui sera «privée», comme a tenu à le souligner la famille de la jeune femme. Aucun journaliste ni photographe ne sera autorisé à assister à la mise en terre de Brittany Murphy qui se déroulera dans la plus stricte intimité. Alors que des rumeurs de plus en plus persistantes font état de l’anorexie de l’actrice, le bureau du médecin légiste de Los Angeles a fait savoir qu’à 52 kg, son poids était parfaitement normal pour sa taille d’1m65.

Par ailleurs, le site TMZ, toujours friand de ragots, a indiqué que Brittany Murphy avait un testament, rédigé quelques années avant qu’elle ne rencontre – et épouse – Simon Monjack. De fait, selon le site Web, l’actrice a légué tous ses biens à sa mère. De plus, puisque nous parlons de TMZ, sachez que le bureau du médecin légiste et la police de Los Angeles n’ont pas digéré la publication du premier rapport d’enquête (dont nous parlions dans cet article) et qui mentionnait, notamment, tous les médicaments trouvés chez la starlette. Une enquête officielle a été ouverte à ce sujet pour tenter de trouver la personne responsable de la fuite de ce document confidentiel.

Des funérailles privées pour Brittany Murphy
Les funérailles de l'actrice Brittany Murphy se sont déroulées à Los Angeles, le 24 décembre, lors d'une cérémonie privée.

Un petit groupe d'amis proches et de membres de la famille, dont la mère de la femme de 32 ans, Sharon, et son mari Simon Monjack, ont assisté à une cérémonie privée avant de se rendre au cimetière Forest Lawn Memorial Park à Hollywood Hills pour lui rendre un dernier hommage.

On a entre autres récité le Kaddish, une importante prière juive. Le chant protestant Amazing Grace (Grâce infinie) a également été chanté.

Le service funéraire s'est terminé par une lecture de l'oeuvre Le Petit Prince d'Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

Le père de Brittany Murphy ne s'est pas présenté aux funérailles. Il a indiqué qu'il ne voulait pas voir sa fille comme ça. Il a ajouté qu'il n'avait que de bons souvenirs d'elle. Pour lui, sa fille est en train de faire un film quelque part.

L'autopsie de l'actrice, décédée dimanche d'un arrêt cardiaque, a été terminée lundi et ne révèle rien de suspect sur sa mort prématurée.

Exclusive Brittany Murphy Grave photo gets released online. Today, Radaronline released an exclusive photo (above) of Brittany Murphy’s grave online. Brittany was laid to rest yesterday at the Church of the Hills at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles,California. Only a few close friends and family members attended the morning service

The service for the burial took place in the Bright Eternity section of the memorial park at around 5:30pm. Eric Balfour and his sister, Tori were reported to be the pall bearers at the burial. Some of Brittany Murphy’s favorite quotes were included on the back of her memory folder. Some of them included words from: Janis Joplin, the story The Little Prince, the poet Wordsworth and Charlie Chaplin.

The family also announced that a bigger memorial for her is scheduled for sometime next year. The Coroner is currently waiting for results from the toxicology reports to come back to determine the cause ofBrittany ’s death. She passed away Sunday morning due to cardiac arrest in her Hollywood Hills home. She was only 32 years old. It’s very,very sad.

The voice at the end of the line was barely coherent. ‘I have not slept for more than two days,’ explained Simon Monjack, when we spoke to him on the phone earlier this week.

He was, he said, utterly disoriented by the way his life had been torn apart in an instant.

Mr Monjack was referring to the moment — ‘8.30am last Sunday’ — when his wife, Hollywood actress Brittany Murphy, 32, was found unconscious in the bathroom of their Los Angeles home following a suspected heart attack. She never regained consciousness.

‘My world was destroyed,’ said Mr Monjack, who was born in North London to Jewish parents. He and Brittany, he revealed, were planning to start a family.
Under different circumstances, it would have been impossible not to take his words at face value: simply those of a grief-stricken husband who had lost the love of his life.
You might wonder, though, why Mr Monjack, 39, decided to return our call in person — within 15 minutes of Miss Murphy’s publicist being contacted by the Mail.

Or why he agreed to be interviewed on American TV only a matter of hours after Miss Murphy was pronounced dead in hospital before going on to give a major interview to a U.S. magazine.

Normally this comes later, much later. But, then, how many bereaved husbands have to defend themselves against the kind of allegations Mr Monjack is facing?

In fact, he has been nicknamed ‘Con-Jack’ in America. Among the ‘charges’ are allegations of credit card fraud, running up huge debts, visa violations and getting his wife fired from her last film after turning up drunk on set.

‘I know I have been called a conman,’ Mr Monjack told us. ‘I am not perfect. I never said I was. But there has been so much rubbish written about me and Brittany. Most of what you read is made up.’

Hence his decision to engage in what some might describe as a personal PR campaign even before Miss Murphy was laid to rest on Thursday in the same LA memorial park as Michael Jackson.

Nevertheless, despite his public denials of any wrong-doing this week, the question many in Hollywood are asking is: how did the beautiful and talented Brittany Murphy, best known for her roles in Clueless, 8 Mile and Girl, Interrupted, ever get involved with the overweight Monjack, whose talents as a ‘screenwriter, director, and producer’ are much less discernible?

But Miss Murphy, it seems, fitted into a familiar pattern. She was rich, obviously, but also surprisingly vulnerable (her painfully thin appearance of late led to rumours she was suffering from anorexia).

Before Miss Murphy, we have been told, there were a string of other women who, in one way or another, came to regret ever meeting the charming Simon Monjack.

Among them is a former girlfriend from a wealthy London family, who is alleged to have lost more than £200,000 after investing in one of his ‘film’ projects. The emotional cost was much higher.

‘She still hasn’t really got over him,’ said a close friend. ‘She is still in a very fragile state. But we’re all just relieved he’s out of her life. When I heard he had married Brittany Murphy a few years ago I thought: “Poor, poor Brittany".’

This will come as no surprise to 36-year-old Simone Bienne, or Simone Panjwani, as she was when she was swept off her feet by Mr Monjack.

Her suitor had seemingly impressive credentials. Born in Hillingdon, North London, his mother ran her own interior design business while his father is understood to have worked in the City.

His father died of a brain tumour 15 years ago and his mother, who trained as a bereavement counsellor, now lives in Buckinghamshire with a new partner.

Mr Monjack himself had successfully set up a series of companies in London, all involved in film production (all have now been dissolved).

He and Simone had been seeing each other for just three months when, in November, 2001, they flew to Las Vegas to marry. Five months later, they split up.

Ms Bienne, who has remarried and is now a relationship therapist for GMTV, declined to speak about her life with Mr Monjack, although one of her closest friends revealed: ‘She suffered years of hell with that man.’

Ms Bienne’s reticence is hardly surprising, she had to drag him through the courts in the U.S. — where he had subsequently moved — to get the divorce settlement he had promised her.

Legal papers, filed at the LA Superior Court, show that the outstanding sum — $30,000 (nearly £19,000) — was finally paid to her in February.

Intriguingly, we have been informed that investigators from the Los Angeles County Coroner’s department, who are awaiting the results of toxicology tests on Miss Murphy, are planning to interview Ms Bienne, and have already been in contact with her.

Ten different prescription drugs were found at the Hollywood Hills home of Miss Murphy and Mr Monjack. There was gossip, vehemently denied, that Miss Murphy also took cocaine.

What we do know is that she and Mr Monjack met at a party about three years ago. Again, it was a whirlwind courtship conducted despite the grave concerns of Miss Murphy’s friends.

One Hollywood figure, who had dealings with Mr Monjack, warned her not to get involved with him.

George Hickenlooper was the director of the 2006 film Factory Girl, based on the life of Andy Warhol’s muse Edie Sedgwick. Mr Monjack is given a credit for his work as a screenwriter on Factory Girl on the Internet Movie Database (IMDB).

Yet within hours of Miss Murphy’s death last weekend, Hickenlooper posted the following account on a Hollywood website. It would be difficult to imagine a more damaging critique.

‘Simon Monjack had nothing to do with Factory Girl,’ he wrote. ‘He filed a frivolous lawsuit against us. . . making bogus claims that we had stolen his script. He held us literally to hostage and we were forced to settle with him as he held our production over a barrel.

‘I posted this information on IMDB two years ago in order to warn other people because Monjack was using his Factory Girl “credit” to solicit money from other investors.

‘Then, one night at 3am, Brittany Murphy (who was a good friend and a girl I had come close to casting as Edie Sedgwick) called me in tears, begging me to take this posting down.

'It was going to ruin Monjack. I told Brittany it was the truth, and warned her, as many others did, about Monjack, who had a long, long list of legal complaints against him.

‘In the end, I told Brittany I would do it for her and remove the post because I really cared for her as a friend. The last thing I told Brittany is: “Do you know this guy? I mean do you really know him? Do you know what you are doing by marrying him?”

‘At this point, Brittany became angry and told me she knew Monjack better than anyone and then hung up on me. A few months later I tried to phone her to see if she was alright and Monjack would not let me speak to her.’

Whirlwind courtship: Brittany met Simon at a party

Miss Murphy ignored her friend’s advice and, in May 2007, she and Simon Monjack were married. Even this event was marred by controversy.

It has been reported in the American media that, only a month earlier, Mr Monjack was arrested by customs agents and faced deportation after overstaying his U.S. work visa, leading to speculation that his marriage was a convenient way of overcoming his visa problems.

When he spoke to the Mail, Mr Monjack flatly denied this. He already had a Green Card, he said, which allowed him permanent residency. Indeed, Mr Monjack brushed aside every allegation we put to him during our phone conversation. And, as George Hickenlooper pointed out, it is a ‘long, long list’ indeed.

The £400,000 he owed Coutts bank? The debt was over a business deal in London ‘that had gone sour’ but had now been repaid in full. ‘Coutts would not deal with me if I was a conman,’ he said.

The court papers list another debt of $66,000 (£41,000), that was owed over a deal in LA that had not worked out.

‘All that money has been repaid, too,’ Mr Monjack told us with confidence. What about the two outstanding warrants for his arrest in Virginia for alleged credit card fraud? Well, people were jealous that he had married a famous actress.

‘My problem is that I do not look like Ashton Kutcher [a former boyfriend of Miss Murphy’s now married to Demi Moore]. Nor do they like the fact that she [Brittany] married someone who was not famous. Here, stars like stars to marry other stars.’

For the record, in case there was the slightest doubt, Mr Monjack also dismissed the claims of Mr Hickenlooper, whom he insists, he never even met.

‘I wanted to make Factory Girl many years ago,’ he added. ‘What is being said is not true. I guess everyone deals with their grief in a different way — his is expressing his anger.’

Sadly, Mr Monjack has something of a talent for attracting this emotion. Another example came in Puerto Rico a few weeks ago, where Miss Murphy was working on what turned out to be her final film.

Journalist Roger Friedman, writing in the respected trade newspaper Hollywood Reporter, claimed Mr Monjack turned up on set the worse the wear. When producers asked the star to keep her husband away, she refused and was fired.

‘I spoke to two other movie producers who came into contact with him on a project in the last couple of years,’ Friedman claimed. ‘They described him as a “conman”. Neither had anything nice to say.’

On the flight home from Puerto Rico, it is alleged that paramedics had to board the jet after Mr Monjack became ‘incoherent’.

‘That’s another lie,’ he told the Mail. ‘It was an asthma attack.’

The report about him ‘getting his wife’ fired was equally false. ‘These are all made-up stories,’ he said — like many others about Mr Monjack that have flooded U.S. websites over the past week, presumably.

One, perhaps, is worthy of mention. It was from someone who claimed to be a relative of another of Mr Monjack’s old flames.

The girlfriend, apparently, was delighted to get a diamond ring from Mr Monjack only to discover it was made from cubic zirconia — a worthless stone which, at one time, could be purchased from Tesco for the princely sum of £6.

Last Saturday, the day before Miss Murphy died, Monjack and his wife relaxed in bed, watching movies. They ordered her favourite ‘takeout’ — Thai food — and ate soup prepared by Brittany’s mother, who lived with the couple in LA.

‘Brittany was tired and a little sad because she was sick,’ said Mr Monjack. His wife suffered from a heart murmur — which causes fatigue, dizziness and irregular heartbeats but was not life threatening — and was taking only herbal remedies.

‘I know what the inference is by all those pills,’ he told us. ‘That she was some kind of addict, but addicts hide away their pills. They do not leave them on the nightstand like Brittany.

‘Some of them were old and date back to when Brittany had some ailment or other. You know how people accumulate things and never throw them away.’

Perhaps. But, as with so much in his life, it would be much easier to believe Mr Monjack if his nickname wasn’t Simon ‘Con-Jack’.

Brittany Murphy Death Certificate

TMZ has obtained the Brittany Murphy death certificate, filed just this morning.

The manner of death is checked as "pending investigation." The immediate cause of death says, "deferred."

As for manner, the possibilities include accident, natural, homicide, suicide and undetermined.

As for cause, the L.A. County Coroner is awaiting toxicology and tissue tests.

Interestingly, although several entertainment outlets interviewed Brittany's father after her death ... the death certificate lists the father as "UNKNOWN."

Also interesting ... there's a line on the certificate for "INFORMANT." The name listed is "Tayebe Pajooh, cousin," who has a mailing address in North Carolina. A rep for the County tells TMZ an informant is someone who gives vital information, such as SS#, to the mortuary.

Brittany Murphy, qui est subitement décèdée à l'âge de 32 ans, avait également des talents de chanteuse. C'est pourquoi les producteurs envisagent de sortir un album posthume.
Brittany Murphy, qui est surtout connue pour sa carrière d'actrice, a tout de même sorti quelques singles comme Faster Kill Pussycat en association avec Paul Oakenfold il y a trois, ou Somebody to Love et Boogie Wonderland présents sur la BO d'Happy Feet.
La défunte actrice a également fait partie du groupe Blessed Soul aux côtés de l'acteur Eric Balfour au début des années 90.
Les producteurs seraient à présent intéressés par l'idée de sortir des titres chantés par la star afin de les faire connaître au public. Une source a en effet confié : "La situation est bien évidemment différente de celle de Michael Jackson mais le public s'intéresse à Brittany Murphy ainsi qu'à son histoire."
